Alright folks, sorry for the huge delay in posting pictures. I haven't been busy, and that's actually why I haven't posted anything. Haven't had anything exciting to post about. But here we go. Nathan and I took a two day hike that was around 40km. That's like some 25 miles. It was just awesome. Enough talking, now I'll show you the pictures.

The sign under this tree called it the "2007 Tree of the Year"

A beautiful view into a valley. We ate oranges here.

Pretty flowers.

There are precious few of you who will recognize this tower. I walked up to it. From Freiburg. That's right, and that was only the first day.

Back side of Schauinsland. This is a memorial to some English kids who died in1939 in the middle of a storm while trying to walk to their hostel. The rest of the details are a little hazy.

This is our cabin. We found it on the map and it was actually our second choice. It was simply awesome. And
free!

Tables in the back room.

It had an oven, full set of dishes, candles, seasonings, and even beer glasses! All FREE!

Our stuff on one of the 4(!) tables.

Nathan and I in front of the cabin. It was amazing.

Basically what this sign is saying is that I'm standing at the highest point in the state of Baden Württemberg. 1493M is approximately 4898'. That's .93 miles high!

This sign lets you know that in case your ball falls over the side you should not run after it. Because if you do, you'll be forced to get your groove on. Upside down.

Again, another beautiful valley. I really want to call this one "Bärental", but I don't think that's right.

A neat color for water. We didn't drink this one, but hypothesized that instead of actually making alcohol in the Black Forest, they bottle the streams, because they're all just booze. Sort of like the big rock candy mountain, actually.

A cool fire hydrant on the way down from "Zweiseenblick" or "View of two lakes".

First panorama. A nice field.

This is the view from Feldberg. There is no tower to walk up, but just a little plaza area with a plaque in the middle. The tower you see on the right and left sides is a weather station.

Feldberg Lake. This is a composite picture compiled from some 16 individual pictures I took.

Another composite picture showing two little streams that converge right by the road.

This is "Zweiseenblick" or "View of two lakes". Titisee, our destination, is about a third of the way from the right. Schluchsee is barely visible through the trees on the right. Like almost invisible unless you're looking for it.

Here's a little bit of help. Click on the larger version of this picture to see both lakes indicated.
